Trusting God When We Don't Understand

The core of this message is that the resurrection is not just that Jesus is alive—it’s that He is present. We often assume that if God is good, we will understand what He is doing, but real life doesn’t always give us that clarity. In Matthew 28, the women don’t understand, yet Jesus meets them on the way. In the same way, God is already at work, even when we can’t see it. His goodness is not proven by explanation, but revealed in His presence. Trust, then, is not about figuring everything out, but about staying with Him—honestly and openly—as we keep walking, knowing He meets us there.

I’m Sarah Howley. I’m an author, speaker, trained Christian counselor, and founder of InspiritEncourage.

My own faith has been strengthened by doubt, and that has made me passionate about helping people grow in a deeper relationship with Christ while navigating the very real tensions of life, faith, and Scripture.

The goal of my work is create a space where everyone in the body of Christ is encouraged to ask honest questions while discovering the great love of God and his trustworthiness.

And just so you know a little about me as a human… if it’s before 2pm, there’s almost always a shot of espresso in my hand.
