The Syrophonecian Woman’s Gift
Jesus's encounter with the Syrophonecian woman in Matthew 15 (also covered in Mark 7) is one of the most difficult stories in the gospels to understand. In contrast to some popular interpretations of this passage, I suggest that Jesus uses the gift of the woman through her need and her identity to teach his disciples an important lesson. Many Christians who have walked through suffering have the same gift to offer to the church.
