Fruitfulness in Poetry and Blessing

With fruitfulness as my Word of the Year (WOTY), it isn’t always easy to stay upbeat about it. I find that fruitfulness can be challenging right now. I’m glad that Lisa invited a bit more of poetic focus for the month to keep my WOTY in the forefront.

To help keep fruitful top-of-mind, I’m sharing two simple reflections: an acrostic poem and a blessing I hope you will enjoy. I hope they will encourage you to remain rooted in grace and hopeful in the slow, steady work of God’s Spirit.

Faithfully rooted in God’s unchanging Word,
Relying on grace when the road seems blurred.
Under the vine where His presence is near,
Inwardly growing despite trials and fear.
Tended by love, pruned to refine,
Flowing with purpose, abiding in Vine.
Unseen in the moment, but steady and sure,
Lives that bear fruit will forever endure.

A blessing for fruitfulness

May your roots grow deep in truth,
Anchored firm through storm and sun,
Fed by grace in hidden places,
Bearing fruit when days are done.

May your hands be full of kindness,
Sowing seeds in barren land,
And may every gift you offer
Grow more rich in God’s own hand.

May your heart stay soft with wonder,
Open wide to joy and pain,
Letting love be your companion
Through the drought and through the rain.

May your steps be led by wisdom,
Even when the path is dim,
And may peace, like morning sunlight,
Rise and rest your soul within.

May your life be ever fruitful,
Not in speed but in the slow—
Holy growth that shapes your spirit
Till His likeness starts to show.

How is your journey of 2025 going? I hope you will share how your life is “ever fruitful” in the comments.
